Helena studied Singing as a Post Graduate at the Birmingham Conservatoire, specialising in Early and Contemporary Music.
She also trained on the Musical Theatre Course at the Royal Academy of Music, which allowed her to add contemporary vocal styles to her range.
As a soloist she has sung for Concerts, Opera, Musical Theatre and enjoys performing in a wide variety of styles. Repertoire has included Handel, Bernstein, Monteverdi and Duke Ellington.
While studying in Birmingham she began singing for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
She has sung for five of their plays, recorded music for several CDs and was one of the soloists for ‘A Musical 50 Years’, a concert celebrating the Musicals produced by the RSC.
She was one of the sopranos in the RSC’s most recent production of Richard II, which was the first RSC show broadcast live to cinemas.
She then sang for Richard II and Henry V as part of the ‘King and Country’ cycle, which toured to London, China and New York.
Helena is an experienced choral singer and is one of the two sopranos in the professional Octet at St. John’s Wood Church.
She has also sung with Gareth Malone’s ‘Voices’ choir and the all-female group ‘Celeste’.
While a Birmingham resident she took part in many concerts, tours and recordings with Ex Cathedra.
When they partnered with Birmingham Opera Company for the first complete production of Stockhausen’s ‘Mittwock Aus Licht’, she was part of the ‘Welt Parliament’ choir.
